I’ve finished yesterday! One of my WIPs is sent to the publisher!
Now all I need is a positive response and one more cup of tea before I get by to my other two WIPs yelling at me that I need to do them.
And I may have send the submission twice. What? I was delirious already, didn’t know what buttons to press anymore. And the Internet was acting crazy. Crazier than me.
I’ve spend half a day agonizing over the title. And bugging my family to brainstorm with me. Not good. My family is supportive but they’re all disgustingly straight and vanilla. Meaning I cannot use them as inspiration or to give me toher feedback than laughter and expressive shocked faces. My sister didn’t know what a drag queen was… The horror!
Finally I decided on the title Drag Queen in the Dragon’s Lair with the help of my newly informed sister after the ritualistic faces and wide eyes and questions of that exist?, what is it? and my favourite often heard Why?. She ended up concluding that if women can wear pants, men should equally have the right to wear dresses and makeup. And that scots are hot and she wants to exchange her fiancée for a dragon-man. I’m proud of her.
Here’s my inspiration for Ryuu-my drag queen that sadly doesn’t get to do that much drag shows and Troy- a naga dragon that is too stubborn for his own good and catches up a bit slowly, regardless of his smarts.
What if you suddenly found yourself in a Dragon’s Lair? What would you do? Mmmm. Enjoy it, of course. Especially when the dragon is so yummy!
Ryuu had spend his life having to explain why he likes dressing in woman’s clothes and resenting that he was different. Travelling the country with his boyfriend and working as a drag queen entertainer had been fun. Until it got old. The moving around and the boyfriend. Finding a new stable job in Boston is a godsend. He doesn’t know yet just how true is that statement is.
Troy lives in his caves. He hardly goes out, unless his somewhat friend, Hermes, makes him. Yes, that Hermes. And Troy’s that old. And weary. He’s a naga dragon and has no time or patience for humans’ bullshit. Then he hits a human with his car and takes him home. His life will never be the same.
Will the stubborn dragon realize what treasure he had stumbled upon, with a bit of friendly help? The sex is great but is that the only think that is special about Ryuu? Even if he does open his eyes in time , Ryuu may not survive the sudden immerse in a world where dragons are venomous snake-like hunky guys and mythological gods own clubs. Especially if you mix in all the craziness an impulsive competitive brother and a scary as hell future mother-in-law.
Hopefully my new series Fated-
this new book being Book One in it- will soon be up next to my other series, Return of the Originals.
Wish me luck!
Going back to work now… Ugh,
